Incredible Picnic a huge success!

Last week we announced that we would be attending the Musquodoboit Harbor Farmers’ Market & Incredible Picnic. We are pleased to report that the day was a huge success with many visitors to the table and outstanding weather!

Once the Hello Cupcakes team arrived in Musquodoboit Harbor (after a beautiful drive I might add) we started working quickly to get our table setup to sell yummy treats to our visitors. It was great speaking with guests about who we are, where we traveled from, and of course the world of gourmet cupcakes!

We were able to offer guests free samples on site so they could try Hello Cupcakes products before they buy, the reactions spoke for themselves, delicious! I also personally enjoyed the role of mobile greeter during the event, walking around the market meeting more great folks and handing out information pamphlets.

It was a day filled with entertainment and activities for the whole family.  Jugglers, poetry readings, a fiddler, a bluegrass trio, a church choir, face painting, Scottish Country Dancers, and more were on site entertaining guests!

Visit our Facebook page to see all the photos from this exciting day!

Vegan treats everyone!

Hello Cupcakes is proud to offer vegan and gluten free cupcakes upon request.

We understand that some folks may be hesitant to try vegan products for fear they may have a different taste or texture.

However, we are here to tell you to have no fear, because you might not be able to taste the difference. You might even enjoy them more. Its a true story when I say, the first time I sampled a vegan cupcake- I had no idea I was doing so, and I liked the taste better!

Check out just a handful of reasons why you should give vegan a chance…

  • You’ll live a lot longer (Vegans who eat no animal products live about 15 years longer than meat eaters, according to a study from Loma Linda University)
  • You’ll save your heart (You’ll save your heart. Cardiovascular disease is still the number one killer in the United States, and the standard American diet (SAD) that’s laden with saturated fat and cholesterol from meat and dairy is largely to blame)
  • You’ll reduce your risk of cancer (A study in The International Journal of Cancer concluded that red meat is strongly associated with breast cancer. The National Cancer Institute says that women who eat meat every day are nearly four times more likely to get breast cancer than those who don’t)
  • You’ll give your body a spring cleaning (Giving up meat helps purge the body of toxins)
  • You’ll help reduce waste and air pollution (Circle 4 Farms in Milford, Utah, which raises 2.5 million pigs every year, creates more waste than the entire city of Los Angeles. And this is just one farm)
  • Your bones will last longer (The average bone loss for a vegetarian woman at age 65 is 18 percent; for non-vegetarian women, it’s double that)
  • You’ll help reduce famine (Right now, 72 percent of all grain produced in the United States is fed to animals raised for slaughter. It takes 15 pounds of feed to get one pound of meat. But if the grain were given directly to people, there would be enough food to feed the entire planet)
  • You’ll avoid toxic chemicals
  • You may get rid of your back problems
  • You’ll preserve our fish population (39 percent of the oceans’ fish species are over harvested, and the Food & Agriculture Organization reports that 11 of 15 of the world’s major fishing grounds have become depleted)
  • And THE BEST reason is because going vegetarian is very easy to do (Vegetarian cooking has never been so simple. Supermarkets carry packaged convenience foods like tofu hot dogs, veggie burgers and soy yogurt, milk and cheeses. There’s greater availability of vegetarian options in mall and arena food courts. Many more restaurants specializing in vegetarian food have opened, and others have added “veg-friendly” dishes to their menus. Even traditional fast food chains now offer salads, veggie burritos and vegetarian pizza)

Of course, there is no time like the present to try something new and exciting! Contact Hello Cupcakes today to receive a Free Quote for your vegan cupcake order.

Look forward to hearing from you!
